Shamino visits the Overclock Super Event in Athens, Greece
I was very fortunate to be invited by Plasio Computers (the largest computer retailer in Greece) and personally by my friend Bill GorillaKos, down to the Overclock Super Event held in Athens.
Hosted in the largest mall in Athens, K|ngP|n and Hipro5 - two top overclockers from USA and Greece respectively - were invited to join the event as well. Later on, it turned out that a large part of the world’s most influential overclockers came down to add to the fun.!
I was really excited when I arrived in Athens and the place felt so lively and beautiful, that I was already psyched up for action!
Above shows one of Plasio’s retail shops in the Mall, the signboard is in Greek. It is huge and sells almost anything related to IT:
They also have a facility within the shop called “TheLab”, whereby anyone can just bring their PC down for servicing and repairs.
Early in the morning, we were already down at the venue, with K|ngP|n, Bill GorillaKos, Saaya, Fr3ak, Trouffman and Fredyama. In short, overclockers from Singapore, Germany, USA, Greece, France and Japan!

The crowd was heating up by now and the music slowed down into silence as everyone observed a one-minute silence for the passing away of one of Hellas Overclock Team members Dom, just the day before.
Finally, we were ready to overclock!
Lots of Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) was brought out to us by Esdee, another Hella Overclock Team Member.
Hipro5 made a speech in Greek to the audience which we couldn’t understand a word of, but after that the whole crowd went wild!
Fredyama, the legendary Japanese overclocker joined in the fun as well!...

It was time for more serious overclocking in the “other” Lab, we all went over to Hipro5’s Bench Palace for the next 3 days!

In the end an amazing 3D Mark 06 World Record was established!
29,061 3D Mark 06 with the QX9650 running at 5.65GHz and dual HD2900XTs running at 1160/950MHz!! As Hipro5 puts it, this is a “Real World Record” because the World was benching together!

We had an awesome time in Greece, and it came to an end all to soon! But you’ll be sure the DREAM TEAM is going to be gathering again to overclock in the coming future...!
